Kaspersky Lab engineers then found other components being uploaded, which allowed them to compare the new worm to Stuxnet.Though there are some overall similarities between the two worms Duqu and Stuxnet, there are also significant differences.

New consumer-level cloud services likely cybercrime targets
The fever-pitch announcements of Apple and Google with their new cloud computing platforms has finally brought enterprise-level cloud computing services to the masses. Apple's iCloud for developers and its iOS5, as well as Google's ChromeOS are the latest cloud-based services that allow users to store all of their data, virtually on the Internet.
The advantages for ordinary users with the cloud services offered by Apple and Google, as well as Microsoft with its Windows Phone 7 operating system, can be measured by the convenience they give, particularly in storing important personal data such as contacts and financial information.
But with great benefits also come even greater risks. This is because data is no longer secured in physical and often disconnected devices but is made available to the web which could be a very enticing target for cybercriminals.
According to Costin G. Raiu, Kaspersky Lab Director for Global Research and Analysis Team, it could be risky to use services if basic security measures are practiced by users.
"Basically, we are talking about the same class of risks as ChromeOS – all your digital content might be available to anyone who knows your password. I believe it's completely reckless nowadays to provide such a service without two factor authentication, which makes it prone to basic data theft techniques," he said.
Raiu also believes it is reckless that companies such as Apple and Google would provide such industry-grade cloud services to the public without setting proper security functions to prevent intrustions. The recent hacking incident with the Sony PlayStation Network, which saw the theft of information from about 77 million users, is just one example of such an unsecured web service.
“Of course, even if security is indeed improved through multi-factor authentication methods, we are still faced with the issue that all the data is available on the cloud, in one place. Just as Sony recently learned, the cloud is not always impenetrable. On the contrary, its fundamental nature makes it an interesting target for cybercriminals, and no doubt it will continue to be a focus for them,” says Raiu.
Raui also warns that even if the cloud and the devices that allow for cloud-based services are protected to up 99.99 percent, the vulnerability at the network layer, the connection between devices, is still high especially if no security measures are implemented at this stage.
“From this point of view we may face a new growth of attacks when user information can be intercepted, faked, denied and distorted. Therefore, we might see new and more sophisticated attacks on the network layer side,” says Raiu.

D-Link Launches the DSR-500 and DSR-1000 Unified Service Routers for small and medium businesses
D-Link International Pte Ltd, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products today announced the availability of the DSR-500 and DSR-1000 Unified Service Routers. Designed to address the essential network service needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs), both routers provide enhanced security, functionality and performance over a traditional virtual private network (VPN) router without the complexity of a full firewall solution.
“Efficiency and reliability top the list of needs for every network today with the ever growing requirements of businesses,” said Mr Desmond Toh, Marketing Director of D-Link International Pte Ltd. “As office networks continue to accumulate more devices to fulfill different needs, many business networks are quickly becoming more sophisticated. The D-Link DSR series combines the essential services and functions usually found in multiple devices, and puts them into one device to eliminate unnecessary complexity to your network.”
Robust VPN Features
With mobile workers becoming more prevalent today, having a way to communicate efficiently is crucial. By employing the D-Link Unified Services Router, SMBs can now securely communicate with employees even when they are away from the office through its robust VPN capabilities. The D-Link DSR series router enables safe and seamless clientless connections to resources at the main office anywhere via a web browser using security features such as Secure Circuit Layer (SSL) VPN tunneling.
The DSR series supports Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and next generation IPv6 to help protect current investments. This also underscores the readiness of its network infrastructure for IPv6 roll-out when the time arrives. The D-Link DSR series is able to support tunneling between IPv4 and IPv6.
The D-Link Unified Services Router DSR series comes integrated with four gigabit ports each, which enable the sharing of multiple devices in the office network. With USB SharePort technology, sharing of printer and portable storage is as simple as plugging a port.
Besides supporting dual-WAN connections, the DSR-1000 also offers 3G WAN redundancy, a back up system over a network setting which enables continuous ‘uptime’ and flow in business operations, outbound load balancing. This also makes it possible to connect a local network to the internet using multiple internet connections, physical traffic failover, and route failover which allow users to determine how network traffic is distributed between adapters and how to re-route traffic in the event of an adapter failure. All these features lower the risk of data loss caused by Internet disconnections to provide always-on connection.
Comprehensive Management Capabilities
The Unified Service Routers, D-Link DSR-500 and DSR-1000, are full-featured solutions that offer comprehensive traffic management, superior wireless performance, robust security, and flexible deployment capabilities for the network. With all of these comprehensive functions combined, the D-Link DSR series service routers are ideal for SMBs that require a cost-effective solution for office networking.

Beware when searching for Royal Wedding news on the net

As of March, security researchers at Norton have already begun tracking malicious online activity such as spam designed to steal personal information and links to harmful sites hidden in search engine results. Poisoned search terms observed include:
- Royal wedding gown sketches
- Royal wedding guest list 2011
- Royal wedding time
- William and Kate movie cast
- Prince Charles last name
- Royal wedding official merchandise
- Royal wedding
- Think before you click – Beware of emails or links that promise “leaked” footage, offer “scandalous” pictures, or purport to have “secret” information. Cybercriminals take advantage of sensational and shocking headlines to get you to click on links that could infect your computer
- Go with what you know - While any site could potentially be risky, it’s best to avoid clicking on sites you’ve never heard of that show up in your search results. Stick to the official royal wedding website or go directly to reputable news sites to get the latest news and videos of the wedding
- Protect your computer – Use trusted security software on your computer to block threats and make sure you’re keeping it up-to-date. Use Norton Safe Web Lite and Norton Safe Web for Facebook – free, downloadable tools that identify risky sites before users click on them in search results and on their Facebook news feeds

Dell to roll-out Sandy Bridge offerings
Dell today announced that it will introduce additional new Sandy Bridge-equipped systems next week, building on its already large portfolio of products featuring the Intel 6 Series chipsets (Cougar Point).
The new products, which will roll out in the next six weeks, will be found in the company’s leading Inspiron product line and a new ultra-slim notebook that will combine beauty and brawn in a form factor that will excite and delight.
Dell already is shipping the broadest array of Sandy Bridge-equipped systems of any PC manufacturer. Dell, in fact, was the first to reintroduce the revolutionary Intel 6 Series chipset (Cougar Point) to the market on Feb. 21 with the launch of new high-performance XPS 15 and 17 laptops as well as an XPS desktop. In just the last two weeks, Dell rapidly expanded the number of Intel 6 Series-equipped systems to include Alienware desktops and laptops and a small-business Vostro desktop.
“Everyone from hard-core gamers to professional users and small-business owners can now choose Intel 6-equipped systems from Dell, delivering the ultimate performance they need to do more,” said Sam Burd, vice president of Dell’s consumer and small/medium business product group. “We are committed to the technology, and will be incorporating the architecture into additional products in the coming months, including our award-winning and popular Inspiron series and an innovative new form factor that will debut this spring.”
In addition to the Inspiron systems and ultra-slim notebook, Dell soon will begin shipping Sandy Bridge (Cougar Point) options for business customers, including several Latitude laptops, OptiPlex desktops and Precision workstation desktop and laptop options.
“We are committed to expanding upon the broad array of Intel 6-equipped products we are currently offering,” Burd said. “In addition to being the first company to reintroduce the Sandy Bridge technology, we offered the broadest array of options for our customers who were initially affected during the original stop-ship.”
Following the Intel announcement, Burd noted that Dell immediately put pending shipments on hold; offered affected customers an array of options, which included the ability to return affected units, keep affected units until a replacement was made, or keep their current order open until the reworked systems were available. This rapid communication to customers, Burd noted, is ingrained in Dell’s heritage of listening to its customers and engaging with them directly through various social media platforms liked Direct2Dell, Facebook and Twitter, and also through retail partners worldwide. Dell’s products, in fact, are found in more than 65,000 retail outlets worldwide.
Further details about the new Inspiron systems will be announced next week; the new ultra-slim consumer notebook will be revealed in April.

Didn’t know there’s such a thing as designer scrubs
In our family, we have a handful of doctors and dentists. These professions require the use of scrubs as uniforms. I don’t care much about scrubs since I don’t use them. What I know is that my relatives would just get them off a generic department store or a tailor shop. They would come with cartoon prints and starchy material that’s coarse on the skin.
You can’t find a shop specializing in uniforms and scrubs in malls so it’s a surprise for me to see an online store specializing in scrubs. Not just your ordinary scrubs but designer-quality scrubs. These may not be at par with Giorgio Armani clothes but these scrubs look better than your traditional straight-cut green scrubs.
Now I know what to give my doctor and dentist relatives for their birthdays. Stylish scrubs. Yeah, I’m sure they would love to wear scrub sets that are not only stylish but also comfortable.
