Now is a good time to buy an iPhone

For those of you who decided not to get an iPhone and have it hacked so you can use it here in the Philippines, you will be rewarded for waiting.

The second coming of the iPhone will be arriving mid-July. Dubbed iPhone 3G, it has the following improvements over the previous version:

• 3G Network Compatibility (A big improvement in browsing speed over the EDGE capability of the old iPhone)
  
• Comes in Black and White (White is available on the 16GB version only)
  
• Flush headphone jack (No more headphone adapters)
• Assisted GPS
  
• Back casing is now made of durable plastic instead of aluminum (gives better reception)
  
• Slightly wider by 1.1mm
• Slightly thicker by .7mm
• Price of $199 (8GB) and $299 (16GB). Half the price folks.

For local consumers, let's wait for Globe's pricing scheme for those who wants to avail the iPhone. Sorry Smart users, you'll have to stick with a hacked version.
