Free substitute for Adobe Illustrator

Almost everyone knows about GIMP, the free open-source graphics application that you can use if you don't want to shell out money for a Photoshop license.

inkscape

InkScape is another open-source application but for creating and editing vector graphics that also uses the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. It comes in Windows, Mac and Linux versions.

If you can't get your hands on Adobe Illustrator, try InkScape out.
