Are we ready for touch keyboards?

Yes flat panel keyboards look really awesome but are we ready to give up hearing the clackety-clacks of traditional keyboards? Or the soft presses our fingers make when typing?

Check out this touch-type keyboard called Cool Leaf designed by Kazuo Kawasaki from Minebea. This keyboard is made up of a mirrored surface with backlit keys and has a capacitive coating. It looks really beautiful isn’t it? No more crumbs falling in-between keys and it’s mighty easy to wipe it clean as well.

But I don’t know, I’m the type of person who doesn’t enjoy using touchscreen phones when sending text messages so I think this won’t fly for me. These might fit in hospitals though.
